It is pointless, and Majima quickly realized he... relaxed too much, too fast. Was this the drink's fault, or just he felt at ease with Kiryu (with teasing Kiryu, to be exact, he might have gone overboard with that— what is this about this guy that makes him so teasable. And the save came in the form of pouring Kiryu another drink (you didn't have to lean so close to brush yer elbows together, focus Goro, dammit), and steering the conversation away from the topic. Despite having noticed the confusion on Kiryu's face, his tone was back to light and conversational. But an awkward note might slip in, he was, after all, covering his own slip.
